As a female agent of the Central Intelligence Agency, Evelyn Salt (played by Angelina Jolie) swears to be loyal to her responsibilities, honor, and country. However, when a traitor, after interrogation, frames Salt as a Russian spy and reveals a secret plan, her loyalty is put to a severe test. To prove her innocence, Salt is forced to flee, and her former colleagues, Winter (played by Liev Schreiber) and Peabody (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor), are ordered to capture her. Salt uses all her skills and experience to evade capture and try to uncover the truth, proving her innocence. As she uncovers the truth, she also begins to doubt her own identity. Who is Salt really?
